During a 1975 round-the-world voyage to the tropical island of Bali, designer John Hardy was captivated by the opulence of their classical arts. Studying traditional techniques with Balinese artisans, he then began creating jewelry that uniquely applied these traditional Balinese crafts.

 Handcrafted by descendants of the island’s original royal metal smiths, their extraordinary skills and ancient traditions are lavished upon every item in the John Hardy jewelry collection. Each John Hardy design retains the strength, texture and integrity of ancient Bali artisans, while transforming each piece into a timeless and at the same time, modern work of art.
